Dear
Parents, June
16, 2008
3
days left! It actually makes me very sad!
REMINDER:
School
opens at 8:30 sharp. If you are dropping off, please wait until
that time. Usually I am in my room, but there are times when I'm
not. I use that time to collaborate with other teachers, make copies,
etc.
Thank
you!
This
week:
Tuesday, June 17, 12:00-1:00
K-1 Pizza Luncheon
Tuesday, June 17, 2:00-3:00
1-5 2 Fiddles
Wednesday, June 18 Last
Day of School
Centers
We're finishing up work that needs to get caught up on at the Hershey
Bar table. If they are all caught up, they will have a chance to
play Go Fish or War. At the Jellybean table, the children will be
working on a stained glass (tissue paper) flower. The computer and
listening/library centers will continue as they are.
Kindergarten
Only 3 days left
before these children enter first grade! We will work on learning
on the capital letter J (start at the top, in the middle. Big line,
turn, little line). They will also have practice with capital letters
they have already learned. This will finish up all of the capital
letters learned! As soon as the kindergarten students come back
to school as first graders, they will learn the lower case alphabet!
I have already noticed a difference in handwriting since the beginning
of the school year. Keep up the great work kiddos!
First
Grade
This
week, the students will be working on the following in Math:
Adding 9
Dolphin Paper Mache
Reading
- OK, so I couldn't put the models of the bottle-nosed dolphins
together on time last week. We did get to more reading last week
and THIS week we will be paper macheing and painting our dolphins.
Are there any questions or
comments about your child/curriculum? Don't hesitate to call me
at school (495-3463) or e-mail me at esullivan@gsinet.net.
Sincerely,
Erika
